The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper state management in the sched/mmcid logic when scheduling in a vfork() or CLONE_VM task. A local user can trigger the affected scheduling path to cause a denial of service.
The issue occurs when CID fixup does not correctly handle the task list and a subsequent schedule-in fails to acquire a transitional CID, causing the machine to stall.
