The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper resource shutdown or release in the inside-secure eip93 crypto algorithm unregistration logic when unloading or unregistering driver algorithms based on hardware capabilities. A local user can trigger algorithm unregistration on platforms that do not implement all silicon options to cause a denial of service.
The issue can lead to a kernel panic on affected platforms.
