Description

This security bulletin contains information about 4 vulnerabilities.

1) Improper access control (CVE-ID: N/A)

CWE-ID: CWE-284 - Improper Access Control

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear

The vulnerability allows a remote user to disclose sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to improper access control in message.action forwarding when processing model-controlled action metadata that selects a loopback Gateway URL. A remote user can supply crafted action metadata to disclose sensitive information.

Only deployments with the affected feature enabled and reachable are vulnerable, and exploitation depends on lower-trust input being able to reach the affected path.

2) External Control of System or Configuration Setting (CVE-ID: N/A)

CWE-ID: CWE-15 - External Control of System or Configuration Setting

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:L/VI:H/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green

The vulnerability allows a remote user to execute unintended local code.

The vulnerability exists due to improper control of environment variables in the Gmail setup gcloud execution feature when processing a repository workspace .env file. A remote user can supply a crafted workspace .env that sets CLOUDSDK_PYTHON to execute unintended local code.

Exploitation requires the affected feature to be enabled and reachable, and a trusted operator to open the repository.

3) External Control of System or Configuration Setting (CVE-ID: N/A)

CWE-ID: CWE-15 - External Control of System or Configuration Setting

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:A/VC:L/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear

The vulnerability allows a remote user to load bundled runtime dependencies from an unintended local state path.

The vulnerability exists due to improper control of environment variables in runtime dependency root resolution when opening a repository containing a crafted workspace .env file. A remote user can supply a workspace .env that sets STATE_DIRECTORY to load bundled runtime dependencies from an unintended local state path.

Exploitation requires the affected feature to be enabled and reachable.

4) Untrusted search path (CVE-ID: N/A)

CWE-ID: CWE-426 - Untrusted Search Path

CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear

The vulnerability allows a remote user to execute an unintended local executable.

The vulnerability exists due to improper control of search path in trash command selection when maintenance tasks use a workspace-derived service PATH. A remote user can influence the service PATH to cause execution of a local executable the operator did not intend to run.

Exploitation requires the affected feature to be enabled and reachable.
