Description
This security bulletin contains information about 8 vulnerabilities.
1) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-53101)
CWE-ID: CWE-121 - Stack-based buffer overflow
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Amber
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in image.c. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
2) Infinite loop (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-53015)
CWE-ID: CWE-835 - Loop with Unreachable Exit Condition ('Infinite Loop')
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:P/U:Green
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to infinite loop when writing during a specific XMP file conversion command. A remote attacker can consume all available system resources and cause denial of service conditions.
3) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-53019)
CWE-ID: CWE-401 - Missing release of memory after effective lifetime
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due memory leak in magick stream. A remote attacker can force the application to leak memory and cause a denial of service condition on the target system.
4) Reliance on undefined behavior (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-55160)
CWE-ID: CWE-758 - Reliance on Undefined, Unspecified, or Implementation-Defined Behavior
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:N/VI:H/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear
The vulnerability allows a local attacker to compromise the affected system.
The vulnerability exists due to undefined behavior in CloneSplayTree via MagickCoalesceImages. A local attacker can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
5) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-55005)
CWE-ID: CWE-122 - Heap-based Buffer Overflow
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in log colorspace handling. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and cause a denial of service condition on the target system.
6) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-55154)
CWE-ID: CWE-190 - Integer overflow
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Amber
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow in MNG magnification. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
7) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-55004)
CWE-ID: CWE-122 - Heap-based Buffer Overflow
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:H/VI:L/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Amber
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when performing image magnification in ReadOneMNGIMage. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and gain access to sensitive information on the target system.
8) Format string error (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-55298)
CWE-ID: CWE-134 - Use of Externally-Controlled Format String
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a format string error in the "InterpretImageFilename" function. A remote user can supply a specially crafted input that contains format string specifiers and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
