The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper control for consumption of internal resources. A remote attacker can send a crafted DNS packet to the server, cause increased memory and CPU consumption and perform a denial of service attack.
