Description
This security bulletin contains information about 6 vulnerabilities.
1) Race condition (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-62820)
CWE-ID: CWE-362 - Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition')
CVSSv4: 9.2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in Windows DNS Server. A remote attacker can exploit the race and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
2) Race condition (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-61920)
CWE-ID: CWE-362 - Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition')
CVSSv4: 7.5 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:H/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote user to execute arbitrary code on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in Windows DNS Server. A remote administrator can exploit the race and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
3) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-65789)
CWE-ID: CWE-416 - Use After Free
CVSSv4: 9.2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error in Windows DNS Server. A remote attacker can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
4) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-62817)
CWE-ID: CWE-787 - Out-of-bounds write
CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:A/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input in Windows DNS Server. A remote attacker on the local network can trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
5) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-62787)
CWE-ID: CWE-416 - Use After Free
CVSSv4: 7.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error in Windows DNS Server. A remote user can win a race condition and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
6) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-62878)
CWE-ID: CWE-121 - Stack-based buffer overflow
CVSSv4: 9.3 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in Windows DNS Server. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
