1) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-68164)

CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper input validation

CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in damon_set_regions() when processing overlapping input ranges. A local user can provide overlapping or invalid address ranges to trigger a division by zero and cause a denial of service.

The issue can also lead to unexpected DAMON and DAMOS behavior, including malformed monitoring results and repeated application of actions to overlapping regions.
