CWE-ID: CWE-835 - Loop with Unreachable Exit Condition ('Infinite Loop')
CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to an infinite loop in the NCQ tag completion bit-scanning logic in sata_dwc_isr() in drivers/ata/sata_dwc_460ex.c when processing NCQ tag completion data with only high bits set in the tag mask. A local attacker can trigger this condition to cause a denial of service.
The issue can occur in hardirq context while a spinlock is held.
