Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-68435)
CWE-ID: CWE-476 - NULL Pointer Dereference
CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of user-space pointers in machine_kexec_prepare() in arch/loongarch/kernel/machine_kexec.c when searching loaded kexec segments for the command line marker on the kexec_load(2) path. A local user can provide a crafted user-space segment buffer to trigger a kernel dereference of a user pointer and cause a denial of service.
The issue affects the LoongArch kexec_load(2) path with file_mode set to 0.
