CWE-ID: CWE-770 - Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling

CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper memory allocation in dc_create() when initializing the AMD display manager. A local user can trigger GPU initialization so that allocation of struct dc fails and cause a denial of service.

The issue can leave the display unusable after amdgpu probe aborts during device initialization.
