The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code.

The vulnerability exists due to buffer overflow in kernel driver due to missing size validation. An unauthenticated attacker in a position can alter or craft DNS responses to the targeted host to execute arbitrary code via malicious packets.
