The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to a heap-based buffer overflow in the wcn36xx HAL response dispatcher when processing an oversized firmware HAL response. A local user can provide a firmware response with an excessive length to cause a denial of service.
The copied data is firmware-controlled content written into a 4096-byte buffer.
