Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-74312)
CWE-ID: CWE-125 - Out-of-bounds read
CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to out-of-bounds access in vhost_vdpa_mmap() and vhost_vdpa_fault() when processing a virtqueue index from vm_pgoff. A local user can provide an out-of-range queue index to trigger driver-specific get_vq_notification() callbacks and cause a denial of service.
The issue may lead to invalid PFN remaps in the callback path.
Remediation
