Description

This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.

1) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-74278)

CWE-ID: CWE-200 - Exposure of sensitive information to an unauthorized actor

CVSSv4: 4.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to disclose sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to improper exposure of sensitive information in bounce_error_event() when delivering bounce error events to a user client via snd_seq_read(). A local user can trigger delivery of a bounce error event and read the returned fixed-length event to disclose sensitive information.

The issue exposes a raw kernel heap pointer from struct snd_seq_event to userspace through copy_to_user() in the fixed-length event handling path.
