1) Race condition (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-74284)

CWE-ID: CWE-362 - Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition')

CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper state management in the HFSC scheduler class handling in net/sched/sch_hfsc.c when dequeuing packets from a class whose child qdisc becomes empty. A local user can trigger packet processing that causes a class to be marked passive twice to cause a denial of service.

The issue can incorrectly remove a parent with still-backlogged sibling classes from the virtual time tree, causing queued traffic to stop being dequeued.
