The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in the ALSA sequencer FIFO handling in sound/core/seq/seq_fifo.c when resizing the FIFO while processing and relinking event cells. A local user can trigger concurrent FIFO resize and event handling operations to cause a denial of service.

The issue can leave a retired pool waiting indefinitely for stale cells to drain during pool teardown.
