Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-74256)
CWE-ID: CWE-190 - Integer overflow
CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow in bpf_msg_pop_data() in the sockmap BPF message handling code when processing crafted start and len values. A local user can supply out-of-range values to trigger an out-of-bounds pop operation and cause a denial of service.
Exploitation can cause the pop loop to run past the end of the scatterlist and reach an invalid put_page() on an empty slot.
Remediation
