The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to a memory leak in sfp_i2c_mdiobus_destroy() when removing a copper or RollBall SFP module that instantiated an MDIO bus. A local user can trigger module hot-removal to cause a denial of service.
The issue is triggered on module hot-removal and not on driver unbind.
