Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-72392)
CWE-ID: CWE-476 - NULL Pointer Dereference
CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to a null pointer dereference in fib6_walk_continue() when resuming a multi-batch IPv6 FIB dump after a concurrent table insertion changes hash-chain ordering. A remote attacker can trigger netlink dump processing to cause a denial of service.
The issue occurs because walker state can become inconsistent, with the root referencing a different table while the node still points into the previous one.
Remediation
Install update from vendor's website.
