CWE-ID: CWE-400 - Resource exhaustion
CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper resource management in dm_poll_bio() in the device mapper subsystem when polling target bios through a stacked dm device with io_uring IOPOLL. A local user can trigger repeated polling on a dm-stripe target to cause a denial of service.
The issue can keep a task inside the polling path long enough to trigger an RCU CPU stall.
