The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in evm_read_xattrs() when reading the list of enabled EVM xattrs. A local user can trigger a read of the xattrs interface to disclose sensitive information.
The issue occurs when no configured xattrs are enabled, leaving the buffer uninitialized before its length is determined.
