Description

This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.

1) Integer underflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-72382)

CWE-ID: CWE-191 - Integer underflow

CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to an integer underflow in parse_dacl() in fs/smb/server/smbacl.c when processing a crafted security descriptor in SMB2_SET_INFO security information requests. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request to cause a denial of service.

The issue can bypass the ACE count guard for undersized DACLs and trigger large temporary ACL state and pointer-array allocations.
