The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.

The vulnerability exists due to out-of-bounds write in the UDP tunnel handshake processing in the GlobalProtect App when handling a UDP tunnel handshake. A remote attacker on the local network can act as a man-in-the-middle or a rogue gateway to execute arbitrary code with highest privileges on the system (e.g. under SYSTEM or root).

No special configuration is required to be affected by this issue.
