CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper resource state handling in the i.MX I2C bus driver when processing I2C transfers during the noirq suspend and resume window. A local user can trigger an I2C transfer while the controller resources are unavailable to cause a denial of service.
The issue occurs on affected i.MX platforms when periodic workqueues or timer-driven activity continue issuing transfers as hardware resources such as clocks or pin control are disabled or not yet restored.
