The vulnerability allows a local attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper state management in batadv_send_tt_request() in the batman-adv translation table component when handling translation table requests after send buffer allocation failure. A local attacker can trigger repeated translation table requests to cause a denial of service.

The issue can lead to request storms because information about a pending translation table request is lost after a failed send attempt.
