Description

This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.

1) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-72219)

CWE-ID: CWE-401 - Missing release of memory after effective lifetime

CVSSv4: 6.9 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a memory leak in nlm_lookup_file() when processing file handles rejected by the underlying export. A remote attacker can present crafted file handles that trigger nlm_do_fopen() failures to cause a denial of service.

Each failed open attempt leaks one newly allocated nlm_file object.
