Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Improper locking (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-72152)
CWE-ID: CWE-667 - Improper Locking
CVSSv4: 4.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of task state and wake-up logic in wait_for_tpm_stat() in the TPM TIS core when waiting for TPM status changes on the IRQ wait path. A local user can trigger TPM operations that exercise the affected wait path to cause a denial of service.
The issue is associated with the IRQ-based wait path and can trigger a kernel warning when CONFIG_DEBUG_ATOMIC_SLEEP is enabled.
