1) Improper Check or Handling of Exceptional Conditions (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-72138)

CWE-ID: CWE-703 - Improper Check or Handling of Exceptional Conditions

CVSSv4: 4.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper error handling in gntdev_ioctl_map_grant_ref() in the xen grant device driver when handling an ioctl request and copying the operation result to userspace. A local user can trigger a copy_to_user failure after a mapping has been added to the list to cause a denial of service.

The issue can leave a mapping in priv->maps with a dangling list entry and a leaked reference count.
