Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-72335)
CWE-ID: CWE-416 - Use After Free
CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free in mgmt_add_adv_patterns_monitor_complete in the Bluetooth management subsystem when handling advertisement monitor add completion after a failed MSFT offload add operation. A local user can send a crafted Bluetooth management request to trigger the use of freed memory and cause a denial of service.
The issue occurs in the queued management add flow after a monitor is inserted before the powered MSFT setup step, and it was reproduced by KASAN as a slab-use-after-free.
Remediation
