Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-72068)
CWE-ID: CWE-190 - Integer overflow
CVSSv4: 4.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to an integer truncation in update_rlimit_cpu() when converting the RLIMIT_CPU value to nanoseconds on 32-bit kernels. A local user can set a CPU time limit of 5 seconds or more to cause a denial of service.
Only 32-bit kernels are affected. Limit enforcement remains correct, but the process CPU timer may be programmed to fire prematurely.
Remediation
Install update from vendor's website.
