1) Improper Initialization (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-72005)

CWE-ID: CWE-665 - Improper Initialization

CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper initialization in rt2x00lib_probe_dev() and rt2x00lib_remove_dev() when handling probe failures before work items are initialized. A local user can trigger an early probe failure to cause a denial of service.

The issue occurs when drv_data or workqueue allocation fails before intf_work, autowakeup_work, and sleep_work have been set up.
