The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to uncontrolled recursion in ASN1 parsing in kerby-asn1 when processing a deeply nested ASN1 structure. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted deeply nested ASN1 structure to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass kerberos pre-authentication.

The vulnerability exists due to improper authentication in kerb-server when processing PA-DATA with an unrecognized or unsupported type. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted PA-DATA value to bypass kerberos pre-authentication.
