1) Improper Check or Handling of Exceptional Conditions (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-74716)

CWE-ID: CWE-703 - Improper Check or Handling of Exceptional Conditions

CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of VMA flags in amdxdna_insert_pages() when accessing a mmaped non-imported GEM object after madvise(MADV_DONTNEED). A local user can mmap a non-imported GEM object, call madvise(MADV_DONTNEED), and then access the memory to cause a denial of service.

The issue is triggered when a page fault is handled for backing shmem pages mapped with VM_MIXEDMAP, causing a BUG_ON assertion in vmf_insert_pfn_prot().
