1) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-74708)

CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper input validation

CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in the xsk transmit metadata handling in AF_XDP when processing user-supplied transmit metadata. A local user can provide crafted metadata with launch-time flags and an incomplete registered metadata area to cause a denial of service.

The issue involves inconsistent flag handling if user space changes metadata flags concurrently during request and completion processing.
