The vulnerability allows a local user to disclose sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in pmbus_notify() in the PMBus hwmon subsystem when processing device attributes in notification logic. A local user can trigger notification handling with a non-sensor_device_attribute attribute to disclose sensitive information.

The issue is caused by type confusion from casting multiple attribute structure types to struct sensor_device_attribute.
