1) Race condition (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-74702)

CWE-ID: CWE-362 - Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition')

CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper state management in vhost_scsi_set_features() and the vhost-scsi I/O path when changing negotiated virtio feature bits after the endpoint is active. A local user can change the VIRTIO_SCSI_F_T10_PI feature after endpoint setup and trigger crafted I/O processing to cause a denial of service.

The issue can lead to a kernel BUG_ON when handling a 129-page protection payload because command resources are not rebuilt to match the changed feature state.
