Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 vulnerabilities.

1) Deserialization of Untrusted Data (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-71559)

CWE-ID: CWE-502 - Deserialization of Untrusted Data

CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to deserialization of untrusted data in the Go meta-string decoder when processing crafted data containing malformed type metadata. A remote attacker can supply crafted data to cause a denial of service.

Only the Go implementation is affected.

2) Type Confusion (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-71558)

CWE-ID: CWE-843 - Type confusion

CVSSv4: 9.3 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to heap type confusion in C++ polymorphic smart-pointer deserialization when parsing a crafted input payload. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted payload to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service.

Only applications using C++ polymorphic smart-pointer deserialization are affected.

3) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-71560)

CWE-ID: CWE-125 - Out-of-bounds read

CVSSv4: 6.9 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to disclose sensitive information or cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to out-of-bounds read in the tagged-int fast-path deserializer in the Apache Fory C++ struct deserializer when deserializing structs containing tagged integer fields from a crafted input payload. A remote attacker can supply a specially crafted input payload to disclose sensitive information or cause a denial of service.

Only applications using Apache Fory C++ deserialization of structs containing tagged integer fields are affected.
