Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 vulnerabilities.

1) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-23904)

CWE-ID: CWE-284 - Improper Access Control

CVSSv4: 6.9 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform server-side request forgery.

The vulnerability exists due to improper access control in the Kyuubi engine-ui proxy when processing request paths containing attacker-supplied host and port values. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request to perform server-side request forgery.

The issue can also result in open-proxy behavior.

2) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-52680)

CWE-ID: CWE-22 - Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')

CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to write controlled files outside the intended upload directory.

The vulnerability exists due to path traversal in REST batch multipart upload handling when processing a client-supplied multipart filename. A remote attacker can provide a filename containing path traversal sequences to write controlled files outside the intended upload directory.

The resulting file write is subject to filesystem permissions.

3) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-62391)

CWE-ID: CWE-284 - Improper Access Control

CVSSv4: 5.3 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote user to bypass server-side configuration restrictions.

The vulnerability exists due to improper access control in kyuubi.session.local.dir.allowlist handling when processing unprefixed Spark file configuration aliases. A remote user can supply unprefixed Spark file-conf aliases to bypass server-side configuration restrictions.

Exploitation requires access to Apache Kyuubi Server via Kyuubi frontend protocols.
