The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to the EdDSA implementation in affected plugin exhibits signature malleability. A remote user can create new valid signatures different from previous signatures for a known message.


2) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-48827)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to access git repositories outside the configured git server root directory.

The vulnerability exists due to improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory in sshd-git git operations when processing repository paths over SSH. A remote user can supply crafted repository path values to access git repositories outside the configured git server root directory.

Only applications using the org.apache.sshd:sshd-git component are vulnerable.
