The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in __ip_set_put_byindex() in the netfilter ipset subsystem when list:set garbage collection and set swap operations occur concurrently. A local user can trigger concurrent ipset operations to cause a denial of service.
The issue can lead to a kernel BUG and panic from timer softirq context.
Remediation
Install update from vendor's website.
