The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges and compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in the vfio_ccw I/O resource handling and channel program lifecycle management when processing concurrent I/O operations and state transitions. A local user can trigger concurrent operations to escalate privileges and compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The issue affects the s390 vfio_ccw driver.
