1) Improper Check or Handling of Exceptional Conditions (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-80538)

CWE-ID: CWE-703 - Improper Check or Handling of Exceptional Conditions

CVSSv4: 6.9 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause filesystem integrity loss and a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper error handling in xfs_rtginode_ensure in fs/xfs/xfs_rtalloc.c when processing realtime group inode loading during growfs operations. A local user can trigger an error condition so that growfs continues with the realtime group inode unset to cause filesystem integrity loss and a denial of service.

The issue occurs because errors from xfs_rtginode_load other than -ENOENT are treated as success.
