CWE-ID: CWE-125 - Out-of-bounds read
CVSSv4: 4.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to disclose sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in nft_dev_forward_path() when processing a malformed bridge path stack. A local user can trigger a bridge VLAN untag path condition to disclose sensitive information.
The issue is caused by an underflow of the num_encaps counter that can wrap its value to 255 and lead to reads past the end of the fixed-size info.encap[] stack buffer.
