The vulnerability allows a local user to disclose sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to improper access control in the AMD last branch record filtering logic in perf when processing user-only branch stack sampling requests. A local user can collect branch stack records to disclose sensitive information.

Only AMD processors supporting X86_FEATURE_AMD_LBR_V2 are affected.
