The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference in the vmu-flash initialization code when initializing the mtd_info device structure without linking it to its parent device. A local user can trigger initialization of the affected component to cause a denial of service.
