The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of an allocation failure in dml21_add_phantom_plane() in the AMD display driver when handling phantom streams and planes. A local user can trigger the vulnerable code path to cause a denial of service.
