Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Race condition (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-80886)
CWE-ID: CWE-362 - Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition')
CVSSv4: 2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in the MSM serial driver console UART when userspace writes to the TTY device concurrently with kernel console output. A local user can write to the TTY device while the kernel printk path reconfigures the UART controller to cause a denial of service.
The issue is most likely to occur during system startup or shutdown.
Remediation
