Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Improper Check for Unusual or Exceptional Conditions (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-80881)
CWE-ID: CWE-754 - Improper Check for Unusual or Exceptional Conditions
CVSSv4: 2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause OCFS2 to process metadata that previously failed validation.
The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of validation failures in ocfs2_read_blocks() when reusing buffer heads returned by sb_getblk(). A local user can trigger reuse of buffer heads retaining BH_Uptodate status after failed validation to cause OCFS2 to process metadata that previously failed validation.
