Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 vulnerabilities.
1) Uncontrolled Memory Allocation (CVE-ID: N/A)
CWE-ID: CWE-789 - Uncontrolled Memory Allocation
CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of a manifest entry count in IDManifest::init when parsing an ID manifest from a crafted EXR file. A remote attacker can send a crafted EXR file to cause a denial of service.
Exploitation requires an application to construct an IDManifest from the file.
2) Uncontrolled Memory Allocation (CVE-ID: N/A)
CWE-ID: CWE-789 - Uncontrolled Memory Allocation
CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of an allocation size in the IDManifest constructor when processing a crafted EXR file. A remote attacker can provide an EXR file with an excessive declared uncompressed data size to cause a denial of service.
The issue is reachable when an application constructs an IDManifest from an ID manifest.
3) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: N/A)
CWE-ID: CWE-476 - NULL Pointer Dereference
CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to a null pointer dereference in IDManifest::init when processing a crafted EXR file with a zero declared uncompressed data size. A remote attacker can provide an EXR file that causes IDManifest::init to dereference a null pointer to cause a denial of service.
The issue is reachable when an application constructs an IDManifest from an ID manifest.
