The vulnerability allows a local user to cause an I/O hang.

The vulnerability exists due to numeric truncation in the dm-io do_region() function when processing misaligned direct I/O requests to a dm-mirror device. A local user can submit a misaligned direct I/O request to cause an I/O hang.
